Welcome to the wonderful world of guitar playing and to the forum Tony. You made a great choice for a first guitar. The main thing is to keep plugging at it and don't get discouraged when/if you don't progress as fast as you'd like as that comes with the territory.A good site for beginners to get chords from is: http://www.chordie.com/ they have hundreds of songs on file.We are all ready to help and give any pointers and advice that you may need so if you are having any difficulties just drop a line and someone will have an answer for you.

Speak for yourself, old geezers, but I'm not cranky. As Shoe (cartoon) says, "I'm charm-challenged". 8)

Welcome. I'm still a relative newbie myself, and have found most people to be quite friendly & helpful.

Welcome to the forum, Tony. Can't go wrong with a Strat. But . . . can't play a NOTE??!! Geeez, just press any string down at any fret, then pluck that string. There -- now you've played your first note!! Easy, wasn't it??

Seriously, lotta help around on here and on the net. Good luck!!
