+1

Keep the cow -- buy a frontal lobe and a pair of opposible thumbs instead.

LMFAO!!!

Isn't there a nursery rhyme involving a cow, a young girl, a guitar, an internet forum and a spoon? If not there should be.

I think this person has been playing a joke on us. In any event, it's hilarious. Is that you, Billy Corgan?

Her overall writing style, or the persona she has portrayed, doesn't indicate that if she were really a 13 year old girl she would consistently use apostrophes to depict the farmer accent--which she does. Rather, it seems like somebody who actually *can* write is behind these posts. Or, if she's a 13 year old girl, fine--she can actually write a little bit if she wants to.

I am 13, I promise, I'll go get my birth certificate, wherever it is, and show it to yah.
I can write pretty good when I want too.
And I do talk with a hick accent, and even when I text i usually use apostraphy's, even though I spelled that wrong...

Sell the cow...that's the point of business right? Sell a product to buy the things you need/want.

If keeping the cow doesn't make much sense, sell it. An American made Fender will cost you more or less than $1000 (depending on the model). An amp and other accesories will cost another $150 or more (if you have the money and think it's worth it, spend about $500 on a good amp-research it though. After that, accesories would only be another $50 or less, depending on what you buy, and not counting pedals or effects, of course).

The cow would cover the cost, it sounds like, and you'd be getting good stuff if you do it right. But make sure of that yourself.

If the cow isn't making you money and you'd have to spend more than you make before you make anything, you might not be able to benefit because by the time you start making money you'll be gone. It doesn't make any sense to keep it if that's true.

Also, yeah- the first guitar I bought was my Fender MIM tele- it is a sweet guitar. Tele's are rad, you have made a bombin' decision my friend.

Hi trwells,

Isn't this question better asked of your parents or guardians? Asking a bunch of anonymous strangers on an internet forum a question like this, doesn't seem prudent.

If it were me, I would keep the cow, breed it and have cows for the future, and in a few years, you can have a cows for food and milk, and the guitar. At your age, you will probably change your mind about guitars in the future more than you change your underwear now.

hey I change my underwear at leas once a month. 8)

okay, so since there is so many mixed answers, i think the cow's gonna go, i don't know how much she will bring, and i have to pay a bill on the guy who kept her this summer while i was gone, that won't be to terribly huge. And here before too much longer, I'll be getting myself a new guitar!

Ha! This is a cool thread! The very idea of selling the cow means you are shifting, and growth often has brought me such dilemmas, though not as proverbial as selling the cow! Besides guitar, I also studied oboe at school, and what I learned was, get the best possible instrument and play on that! Having a lesser instrument and keeping your concert instrument under the bed is folly. So, an american-made Fender will cost you around 1000 dollars. The Fenders above that jump to 3500 dollars and are well worth it! Fender guitars hold their value, just like your cow, and yes the thing will last a lifetime. I dare you to play so much that you wear it out! That´s how we progress as musicians! You want a guitar because you want to express yourself, this is priceless. Good luck out there!
