What pickup has 3 holes in one side instead of one in the center?? Would this be called a "Trembucker"? I don't know what a "Trembucker" is to begin with. I need the pickup that has the 3 holes so I can mount it crooked in my modified pickguard

Out of the more known brands, Duncan, Schaller and Carvin have them. In Duncan's case, this makes them Trembuckers but not with the Schallers. With Carvins, they have 11 polepieces per coil where they can be used for either.

A "Trembucker" or "F Spaced" pickup is a full sized humbucker where the polepieces are spaced further apart than that of a 'normal' humbucker. The purpose of which is to accommodate Fender type guitars which have a wider string spacing than that of a Gibson type. Hence, the connotations: "Trembucker" which incorporate an abbreviation of 'tremolo' and "F Spaced" which incorporate and abbreviation of Fender.

Hi jake: respectfully, Martian's answer made plenty of sense. Perhaps it wasn't the answer to your question because as far as I can see that was what made no sense. "What pickup has 3 holes in one side instead of one in the center??" Dunno, you tell me. I've never heard of such a thing.

Perhaps what you are getting at is Fender style humbuckers which often have two mounting screws at the bass end and one at the treble, instead of Gibson style ones which have a single screw at either end. Is that it?

In that case... search out Fender humbuckers - their Diamondback would be one such and would mount in a Fender type pickguard with three height/mounting screws for a bridge humbucker.

Does that help - or does my answer make no sense either?

Cheers - C

If you're not smart enough to understand what you ask for,go back to playing with photoshop.

You asked a couple of inconcise questions and received a polite answer to part of your question (you now know what a Trembucker is, if you read the reply).

As far as "What type of pickup has three holes for the screw..?", your question is a bit too vague. I immediately thought about the type of pickup Ceri described, but I'm not sure if that's what you are asking.

Do you have a picture of the pickup or a friend who is a bit more articulate who can describe what you're talking about?

Ah yes the child with the mis-spelt Stratocaster decal.

I think I understand his question, but due to his obnoxious manner, I won't bother to answer.

Hi Mark: in light of Jake's latest contribution it wasn't really worth the effort, was it?

Still, when you find Martian being told he makes no sense you can't help being curious. At first I couldn't think what Rebelsoul was getting at with the Photoshop thing - but I'm right up to speed now!

Onward and upward.

Cheers guys - C

Two farewell messages thus far; do you think we'll get a third?

It must be horrible to be so inarticulate and impatient at the same time.

TheJakeLudwig: "I food car in with right hand dog!"
Fellow Forumites: "I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean..."
TheJakeLudwig: "Aaaugh! You idiots! I hate you all!"

Jackassery of the highest order.
