Basketball season is just tough in general....it's why I stopped playing  Well at least in the summer I can be a guitar player by day and baseball player by night

ehh, basketball ain't that bad, i'm tall so it comes pretty easy....went to the doctor today and the nurse was freakin' about me bein' tall, she never did tell me how tall though...and yeah i getcha, it'll take at least one night outa the week for me to play, and that makes me sad, i'm tryin' to figure a way to bring my guitar to school....haven't decided yet, when I can drive, there will be one in my truck and i be jammin' at lunch :D

I'm 5'9 yet basketball still eludes my skills  As for playing at school, it's a lot of fun. My school goes up to eighth grade (this year will be my last  ) so it's a pretty small school and I get asked to play at school masses or pep rallies or special events. It is a lot of fun....especially 'cuz the chicks dig it

Oh so for her it's "if you can afford it" but for me it's "don't waste your parents money." I find this extremely funny. 8)

She's getting a good Fender Strat or Tele. You wanted to pay $409 plus tax for a used (out of the box; in a store) broken Epiphone when a perfect brand new one is $360 with no tax and free shipping. I advised you not to waste your parents' money on a broken instrument by paying about $70 than the cost for the same instrument that's not broken. If you find it extremely funny, you really need to find some kind of exercise to ramp up that brainpower, kid, seriously.

There's a difference between broken an blemished. Factory seconds are not broken as you say. They are blemished and whatever is wrong with it will not affect playability or structural integrity of the instrument itself. You sir, have never even considered buying a factory second because you believe they are all broken. I suggest you do some research before you blatantly insult me on buying a now reasonably priced guitar.
I LOVE it when pompous know-it-alls know absolutely nothing. So in the words of super kid quoting John Lennon, "SHURRUP!!"

well, i go to a tiny schoo too, it has kindergarden through 12 all in the same building, not even 200 people in that span, my7th grade class had 10 people, i don't know what it'll be like this year, we may gain some may lose some....but we don't do many pep rallies. and i was talkin' about just playin' and jammin' at school in general : ))

and don't be to hard on the other guy, he was givin' you some good advice. i won't deny i haven't looked at a few epi's myself. but if your gonna get one, it may be more convenient money-wise to order it... i also understand you wanting to support the store, i'm sure they would understand what's happenin; though just sayin'

Wow that is crazy small. Small town?
I can't imagine my class with only 10 people. Last year (7th grade) we had about 60 but since all but about 10 boys are leaving we will have around 40 this year. Jamming at school would be fun :D My friend who is in 7th grade this year plays a lot at school with me and he was walking down the hallway one day playing Sweet Home Alabama after a pepfest. It was epic.

EDIT: It seems more convenient to order it online but I don't have all the money yet and my local shop offers free layaway so it might be easier to get it there. They're also getting their 2011 Gibsons and Epi's today so I need to go check that out soon

yes, tiny town. it's the exact middle of Historic Rout 66, th town doesn't have 200 people, i actual live in a diffrent town about 40 miles away that has a pretty big school, about 400 people in one grade alone...maybe not that many but still, it's HUGE to me, but i want a good education and i can't get it at the big school

and walking down the hall playin Sweet Home Alabama??? BEAST! like i said earlier, I LOVE Skynyrd! Man how I wish I could play Sweet Home Alabama, it;s not my favorite from them but it's definately up there :)

....i needa find someone else here tha plays guitar, i've gotta friend who's learnin' but we're both at the same level, i need someone pretty good to play with, so i can pick up some more skills :P i wanna find some people to play Freebird with

oh and yes, the chicks digg it :)

Having somebody to play with is HUGE. The guy that was playing Sweet Home Alabama is loads better then me. After school we would have some jam sessions in the music room. Playing everything from Jessie's Girl, Sweet Home Alabama, and Day Tripper. Everything under the sun we played.
Sometimes you just find people by chance. My best friend had a neighbor who was a drummer and had a band that needed a rhythm guitarist. She offered me the spot, but I didn't take because i didn't know them and it wasn't the style I liked.
I assume the school is private? Mine is but has around 900 students

My style changes with the day of the week  jk
I like to play a lot of classic rock. I'm into KISS, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles. The Beatles aren't classic rock but are still one of my favorites. When I play I try sound a bit like Ace Frehley....I'm a bit off :P

My guitar instructor and I have started on some heavy lead. I'm nowhere near being fast or skilled like that. I finish my rhythm book last week. It took me exactly one year, and it usually takes a little longer then that so I'm pumped  Are you onto barre chords yet?

Well, for one I like to be difftent, and nobody around here plays guitar that I know of.
And two, I've always loved music and especialy guitar, i get the tingles walikin' into a guitar store, like my guitar gives me a high, like I said, I got Suizie when I was like 7, and we (me and my little sister, she has a strat squire mini) went with my dad around lookin' at guitars, before that christmas and kinda picked them out then "Santa" gave 'em to us for Christmas, let me tell you , it was like love at first sight with Suizie Q.
And 3, i decided I wanted to play, so about a year ago i picked her up, and started to play some, and kept gettin' to where it's funto play and it's music not just noise.

I know that "high" feeling you talk about. I go to Guitar Center, take in all the guitars, and I'm instantly cured of any stress I may have. Plus it's fun to "show off" so to speak
