I once knew a cupcake who installed a 1.21 jigga-watt mega-system in his Yugo. The sonofabitch drew so much current that the alternator caught fire and car burned all the way down to the lug nuts.

Spent the last 28 Years on active duty in the AF, just retired last October and I am with you Danny D. ...the boredom will drive you nuts...so I went back to work as a Goverment Service worker and I track, implement, teach, and procure Training and Education for other government types.

United States Air Force???? AWESOME!!!! it is like my dream to go into the Air Force, can I ask what you did? And thank you.

TRwells...No Thanks necessary...I was an Education and Training Manager. Basically everything you do in the AF you are trained and/or educated to do. I managed training and education programs and I was an AF instructor. I spent most of my career managing training for aircraft maintenance personnel, but also worked with Civil Engineers, Pilots, Postal Personnel, and Special Ops Types...The Special Ops guys were a blast to work with, not that the others weren't too, just different and much more exciting. But don't think it was all fun, there was alot of sacrifices too...too much time away from the family, 12 and 14 hour days, and deployments into war zones...getting shot at is NOT fun. It is not for everyone, but those that do it, find it a very fulfilling calling. I have no regrets and have nothing but great memories of places I have been and friends I have worked with and for.

My oldest son is now in the AF and is an Signal Intelligence Specialist and he is really enjoying it.

FWIW

I am a Nurse. I work in an Immunizations Department (now) doing pretty much what used to do in the Military. Foreign Travel consults, allergy injections, routine vaccinations, and doing various tests that doctors need to have done for their patients. The majority of my time is spent putting little needles into people, I love my job. Where else can you get away with sticking people with needles all day long and get paid for it.

Exactly my point Arjay. I recently installed a ~$7,000 sound system in a mid 90s Buick Century that was leaking trans fluid all over the shop floor. The amp for the 4 Boston SPG555s in the trunk was 2500watts RMS @ 1 ohm  Overkill in the truest sense of the word.
The sound system in my car is about 600watts RMS and sounds exceptional and can achieve volumes much higher than my ears could handle. I tell customers every day that tuning, in a lot of circumstances, is MORE important that wattage ratings, most don't believe me.

On a side note, I now have a second day job...at Guitar Center. It's only part time but will supplement the income I lost when I quit my previous 'second' job.
I was starting to enjoy all this free time I had lately, but I enjoy watching my savings grow even more

Retired US Air Force officer; navigator on the KC-135 refueling jet along w/ a 5 year Air Liaison Officer stint with the US Army.

Currently I work as a defense contractor to the Army and I also work part-time w/ a large animal veterinarian working with cattle and horses.

Very seldom do I get 8 hours of sleep. (But I have a nice Tele collection! :D )
