I'm a fan of rosewood fretboards on Strats all the way :) ..... but when it comes to a telecaster (for me anyways) it's gotta have a maple fretboard :P hahaha

I've always heard that rosewood fingerboards produced a warmer tone while maple ones were brighter. Never really noticed a difference as I have several of both. I think it's just personal preference and I prefer maple.

I can't say that I can hear a difference.

By the time I'm into playing one, they all sound like strats to me.
