What is a normal delivery time for Fender guitars?

I live in Europe and ordered an American Deluxe Stratocaster® FMT HSS from a German dealer on the beginning of January. The dealer told me that the delivery time is 2-3 months.

Today they told me that Fender can not supply the guitar until June, which makes the total delivery time half a year!!!

I'm confused. :?

Is this normal for Fender or is this kind of dealer issue? Is there anything I can do to make my Strat to arrive earlier?

....I'd withdraw the order if I were you. It sounds a bit dodgey....and anyways, you could change your mind and want a different guitar till June.....It'll be cheaper to order from the states, because the prices are so much lower. (Even with the customs duty and the delivery costs you'll still be saving money).

Unfortunately the American dealers aren't allowed to sell directly to Europe. It's part of their dealer agreement with Fender.

....not true. There are many American companies that'll ship any of their stock to Europe, one of them being Sweetwater.

Thanks! I asked several dealers from NY area to make an offer, but they all refused because of the dealership agreement. Let's try this one...

yeah, fender or a supplier most likely only ships to your local shop a few times a year.... its most likely not fender that isnt't stocking the instruments.... theres always the chance is could be a dud as well and then you're out another few months.... i'd order on a reputable site online and make sure they have a good return policy in cases you do indeed get a dud

It depends where he is buying from. German dealers like Thomann.de and Musicstore.de are supposed to be top notch, (try those if you already haven't haba7).
