I mention Jack Pearson often as the best guitarist I've had the pleasure of being around, here's a sample....if I only had 1- 1,000th of his control of a note,I would be happy.

Here's part 1 of a Gibson Les Paul demo....Jack being the laid back guy he is.

Thanks for taking a look man,my barb at recognizing true talent was to bump this btt... :D
I've sat and watched Jack many, many times a few feet away and he makes it look effortless and his vocabulary of licks and phrases is mind blowing.....he has played and recorded with countless legendary musicians and remains very humble....when once asked who was the biggest thrill to play with he said in his low key way,"I've enjoyed playing with everyone."...and went on to relate a story about an unknown player he once saw in a dive in Louisiana...he never knew the guy's name but said,"you talk about chicken pickin'!"

He's a fine player. I knew very little about him. Thanks for the heads-up Reb.

Cherokee, most people only know Jack through his time playing with the Allman Brothers Band,he left after he could no longer deal with the volume onstage and a bad case of tinnitus.....Gregg Allman had Jack in his solo band and when the Brothers were looking for a new guitarist and brought Jack in,the story goes that Dickey said after the band auditioned him,"either we hire him or I'm going to take guitar lessons from him!"

Pretty nice. More than his playing (which is great), I really like his tone there.

He gets that great sustain at a level that doesn't hurt in small clubs and all I've ever seen him use is a Tube Screamer....he's told me several times that picking the note softer on the front end will let you hold it longer than a heavy pick stroke, and working your hand vibrato, which to me,his is perfect...it works but is tough to concentrate on,just technique and lots of practice.
