If it is a Strat, the tip of your cable may be touching the wood of the body once it is plugged in. As the tip of your cable is a positive contact and the shielding paint of the wood is a negative contact, this may very well be the cause of your shorting.

"I DESPERATLEY NEED HELP"
wiki: "The Boy Who Cried Wolf, is one of Aesop's Fables, numbered 210 in the Perry Index. From it is derived the English idiom 'to cry wolf', meaning to give a false alarm"
NC, couldn't tell you were joking from the title.

He's a happy man if the input jack is his only problem.

Cheers

What?

obviously not a desperate need for help, your guitar with a wiring issue will survive to be played another day, I have seen the bold typed "Help" on other threads as well when it was used similarly, so nevermind I guess.

Yes you do...learning some patience would be a good place to start. Solid Body was right, your guitar will live to play another day...

Okay yeah no, this $@!& is messed up some how, the black paint has nothing to do with it, i literally put it all the way to the black paint and nothing happened, when i move the cable around in the input jack it shuts out at one pint

You sure the guitar's jack is the problem and not a short in the cable itself? If you have a different cable to try try that, or try this cable in a different guitar.

Too much wiring got tangeled up in the actual jack whole thing causing a little bit of the exposed wiring to touch other parts causing it to cut off, so yeah i fixed it thanks guys

Nice! Now if you have a similar problem again, you'll have an idea of what may be happening.
