Unless the dealer drops the guitar to $299, I'd walk on a second. Especially when you can get them new all day for $399 with a full Lifetime Warranty. Patience is the key. What if part of the 2nd is a defective truss rod? You can't see that. The whole deal sounds like a pretty big gamble. At $399 I don't call that good business, I call that taking advantage of a customer. I've been buying equipment for over 40 years and I was smoked more than once when I was a kid.

If look at my new thread about it, you will read what I found out. They're going to cut me a deal. Thanks for the tips though.

here's the way i look at it...if you like the guitar, find one on the internet that doesnt have a flaw, and is for less money, and go with it, eather way isn't it the same style and everything guitar? so, same guitar , less money, easy winnner

Didn't see anything I'd call flak. Most just offered fatherly or motherly advice. Remember there are many seasoned players here just trying to spare a young person some grief later on. I'm a big fan of Epi guitars myself. I've been jonesing for either a Tribute or a 60's Tribute or whatever they call it. You now the ones with the Gibson pups and quality hardware. I tried one out and really liked it. I'm waiting till I get some time to bring my rig to my local gut and audition one through my own rig.

Mhmm...never thought of bringing my own amp and such before. I usually just play through a Mustang II because I really love that amp and am getting it soon as well. Good idea.
