I've kinda become the "jack of all trades". I fix cars, do tattoo designs and sell them to shops (I can use a gun too, but I don't have my license. :-(.), I do metal scraping, work construction (general, which means anything our clients want us to do on a house...not always glamorous, but it pays-nicely, plus there's some fringe benefits when your clients like you. hehe), and before that I was a "gas attendant" (saying that just reminds me of the movie Half Baked. lol)

Monday to Friday I'm a corporate trainer for an insurance administrator... but planning on eventually starting a sailboat charter business. "A Pirate Looks at 40" by Jimmy Buffett says it all. 8)

After several years in the Navy worked as a Sr. Electronics Tecnician at a military contractor. Worked in software development since the late 80's. Did a brief stint at woodworking & cabinetry, even worked a few months at Home Depot. Now, work a help desk as a developer support engineer assisting folks that are customizing this company's document image management system.

I am 50 now and have been playing guitar off and on since I was 8 years old. Currently trying to talk the wife into letting me buy the parts from Warmoth so I can build my dream. Its gonna take a while I'm sure.

I have worked a variety of jobs since 1970. The last 12 years has been as a Unix Sys Admin. I am just starting out on my childhood dream of owning and learning to play guitar. I thought at 52 it might be too late and it probably is but I love it so far it is relaxing and my wife enjoys it.

It's never to late, play as much as you desire and throw that age thing out the window. 8)

Amen to that! I'm 38 and just beginning to learn. My friends say I'm having an early mid-life crisis. I say that the day I stop trying/learning new things will be the day I die.

I'm 38 as well. Some folks will never get it and don't waste your time explaining it to them. Mid-life crisis my $@!.

Well, you could always look at it this way... as you get older, memory loss can be a blessing in that everyday is a brand new day. :)

Didn't you know? Guitars are for young people. By 35 you should be Drinking Heavily, Beating your Wife, and reveling in the Glory Days of High School. I'm pushing 36 and I can honestly say, Playing Music has gotten me through Crises of all ages. In the last 5 years I taught myself Open Tunings, Mandolin, and decided to explore Songcraft. Last year I took up the Keyboard, and right now I'm wrestling with the intricacies of digital recording, Frustrating  but rewarding :D . The fun is in the Learning.

CPA working as a Director of Financial Reporting for a major sporting event (think constant left turns). Started playing 1 year ago, and I'm 40. Finally figured I'd have the patience to learn and its like being on crack. I can't put my guitar down. Take it to work and play everyday for a half hour at lunch as well as at night and on weekends. Was teaching myself, but finally got a hold of a great teacher and I can't believe how fast that half hour goes. :D
