17 years as a steelworker, then the bottom fell out. 20 years as a database administrator / computer geek at a big law firm.
seems to be a lot of IT guys/girls responding to this.
I wonder if the logical thinking required for computers helps the music or is it the other way around?
2 of the guys i currently work with play, too.

The computer is now almost a universal tool in many endeavors. Music, having mathematical roots is almost a natural for it, not to mentionas all of the current and potential applications of this technology to the art and science of music.

On another front, the generation that spawned rock music is coming back home to roost, and the audience is there and demanding more. Artists who still can, do, and those who tried, and failed, are getting another shot at it through a variety of venues.

Likely won't be around when Hip-Hop hits its golden years, but that would certainly be something to see and hear.

Geologist for a small petroleum exploration company. Before that for an environmetal engineering firm and before that a research scientist. But I've also been a teacher (math/science), programmer, on air personality (FM radio), pilot, and sound and lighting tech. I play mainly as a stress reliever, takes about 2 hours a night!

I was in the Air Force for 4 years, working on the SR-71, and AC130 Gunship. From there, I worked for PG&E, (Pacific, Gas, & Electric company).

Then I was a police officer for 29 years, and now retired.

I own a digital printing/graphic design company. ImageStation, Inc. I also do quite a bit of 3d animation and model building for civil engineering firms and CalTrans, but that is a side thing I picked up... not a part of the company that is advertised.

I have recently picked up the guitar because I love guitar and my son is 4 now - I hope to get him interested as well.

I'm a student and I am majoring in Philosophy and Psychology. I'll probably go onto law school because I don't have too much else to do. Also, I work for the local school district where I tutor in Mathematics and English as well as work with the couseling departments. Lastly, and best of all I'm a studio musician for a local recording studio. I usually just fill in on rhythm guitar or come up some guitar parts when needed. It's a good gig. It pays well and it's something I would like to be doing anyway.
