I'm a Prosthetist. That means I make artificial limbs for amputees. Also a gret deal of 'brace' work over the years. Pediatric and geriatric and everyone in between, once had a patient 8 hours old and another 102 years old in the same day. Now primarily responsible for development and training in a laser based CAD system that we use to image a limb instead of casting. Get to/have to travel. This is my 20th year in this field, still diggin' it.

I am a State Employee for the State of New Mexico. I work for the Santa Fe Districti Attorneys Office in the Victim Witness Assistance Program. I work with the Victims of Violent Crimes, helping them get ready for court, notifying them of Court Dates and stuff like that. It is a great exciting job never a dull moment.

I have a BA in English, I was originally planning to either teach or work in journalism. I found out teaching wasn't what I thought it would be, so I worked at a newspaper as a copy editor for a couple years. I liked that alot, but the job required working nights, so I decided to move on after I got married and worked as a paralegal for a couple years. I hated that with a passion, and out of desperation took a job with a lawn care company just to make ends meet while I tried to figure out my next move. I'm still with the same company (installing in-ground sprinkler systems) and I haven't been this happy since college.

I guess the point is, don't be surprised if you end up doing something different than what you went to college for.

If you don't mind me asking, out of curiosity, do you do 3D modeling in architecture?.....i'm considering doing architecture when I get out of school, but I'll probably go for 3D animation.

Work in the parts department of a BMW dealership here in VA. Assistant HMFIC.

It is pretty much the same things every day but it pays the bills and we try to keep it light hearted.

Yes we do. It's quite a big part of architectural graphics these days, though personally I'm not so keen on it (probably because I'm rubbish at it! :P). However it is a very small part of a large course...If 3d modelling is your passion over architecture and the built environment then go for 3d animation...though having said that it's a course I believe everyone should do a few years in if they're planning on studying any design course (which is what they do in Italy).

I wouldn't like to sway your decision either way though, just go with what you think you'll be best at and enjoy the most.
:)

No worries, both courses are a lot of fun I'd imagine (obvi I cant speak for animation but if you end up somewhere like pixar then I can't think of a more fun profession!)
