so bachman-turner was in concert (for free!) last night along the riverfront in detroit. we made an evening of it- a little casino action, dinner, and a concert 8)

so b/t hits the stage about 9pm. from the first notes of "roll down the highway", i could see i was in for a treat. they played all my favorites, ending of course with "takin care of business" . randy's voice and guitar playing were in top form, and fred was as good as ever. see them if you can- they still sound great after all these years.

as a follow-up. 2 weeks ago i griped about the sound mix at a skynrd concert. too much bass, guitars not mixed properly. this was the opposite. plenty of bass, but not overpowering. the guitars rang out, the vocals were able to be heard clearly, the bass drum didn't thump like crazy-couldn't ask for more.

my hat's off to the sound crew. best job i've heard in years

Glad to hear you had a good time and that the music sounded great. Always like BTO, will be looking for them hitting my area.

I have been to several EC concerts, and NEVER has the sound been pour, even when I heard him as Derek & The Dominos back in 1970.

Nowadays there is just no excuse for pour sound at a concert!

What about Burton Cummings?

One of my favorite singer-songwriter-musicians!

I haven't seen him since he & Randy did the Bachman-Cummings Songbook tour
and then some appearances on PBS.
