Hi guys,

I am currently trying to decide on some hardware for a custom guitar build (flat top, non-trem electric) and was wondering if any of you could lend me some advice please?

I have narrowed the bridge selection down to two choices, a schaller 3D-6 and an ABM top loading bridge, but I'm having trouble in deciding which unit will be of the better quality?

They both have similar spec, looks, operation etc. The ABM is a little more expensive (£116 vs £88), although this makes no difference what so ever, as regardless of cost, I just want the best available.

I was just hoping that some of you might have had some experience with these two manufacturers and could offer me a little advice on which would be the better unit?

There is plenty of info on the Schaller bridge on their website, but the ABM site has very little (practically nothing) info about the features of their bridge.

Any help would be much appreciated

Russ

Well, I have plenty of experience with the Schaller stuff, ALL good. As far as the ABM stuff, truthfully, I never heard of them until your (this) post. Looking at the ABM website just now, their stuff immediately reminded me of Wilkinson stuff which I am not a huge fan of. Based on what I know to be true about Schaller, I know their stuff is well made, works great, lasts and the pricing for their stuff is (IMO) within reason. If you want my advice, go with Schaller as this is a brand that has a proven track record.

On a semi-related note, did I use the word, "stuff" enough in the above paragraph?
