Okay, but is it a huge difference? Because i want some strings that feel that they are not the same as the ones i just used.

How long is a piece of string?

Cheers

Try some Dunlop strings. They have a lot of different gauges available, and they last me WAY longer than any other strings I've used, and I've used about all the popular brands.

Try D'Addario 10-46 light gauge with the wound .018 3rd string.Although the G string is wound it is extremely pliable and not much harder to bend than the plain G but will give you a fuller tone.

Is there a long life span on them strings?
Ernie Balls are kinda standard life, Dean Markley lasts about 3 and a half months maximum for me so I suggest em

I have tried the Ernies! They are great.
Never tested them Dean Markleys. :(
Daddarios is on my test list to comparision with Ernies!

GHS strings anyone?
Boomers for Rhythm and Nickel Rockers for lead, just my opinion, but D Adddario are a good standard string, nothing fancy, a little tight feeling if you ask me. Ernie Ball is amazing, i was converted when I tried out the Hybrids, Buddy Guy, Slash, Eric Clapton, and I believe Pete Townsend use the Power Slinkeys often. And btw if your given the oppurtunity try out Fender Bullets, idk maybe it was the mixed gauge I was using, but it seemed really organic and fresh sounding

Personal preference for electrics are .011s with a wound 3rd.

I like the tone of heavier strings better but find it's a trade-off in that they are harder to bend. Having said that I also notice a difference with light/heavy strings on guitars with differrent scale lengths. I like nine's on my strats and ten's on my tele's. Just an opinion.

You are going to have a real problem moving up to thicker strings and still have the same degree of flexibility for bending. The thicker the string the harder it is going to be to bend, that's just the way it goes with metal. You could try going to flatwound strings and see if they are up your alley if not you may have to go with my suggestion in a previous post to go with a wound 3rd string of .017 or .018 gauge, that way you'll have a fuller sounding string without giving up too much flexibility.
