After going through a June that rained 24 out of 30 days with only 6 days in double digits and 4 rain free days in July we are now into what's being called Fogust.Flights are routinely being cancelled in St, John's airport and people are having to go through a 4 hour bus ride to Gander to avoid the fog and get a connecting flight.

This is the worst summer on record since 1946 with record breaking cold temps and rainfall.Farmers growing season has been devastated and everything is either drowned or severely stunted. We had temps that only hit 20 C from July2-6 the rest of the time it hovered around 15C or quite a bit lower.By this time of the year I have a pretty good tan but this year the last day that was fit for lying in the sun was July 6 and it has rained every day since.

For those of you going through abnormally high temps-don't worry-things could be worse you could be shivering your buns off having to turn on the furnace every morning in July and August.

100f-110f and humidity near 100%, It's to hot to go outside. Even the swimming pool is to hot for swimming. It sucks everywhere. As the Earth moves toward its greatest gravitational pull in the galaxy we see stranger and stranger weather patterns. It will chill out in about ten-fifteen years as we orbit away.

extremely odd weather has been ocurring around the world indeed. i've never seen a year with a winter, spring and summer like last year. again, this year its been been raining alot for winter, usually its just cold no rain. same as last year, not alot but far more than it usually does. spring, last year, was called flood season in our area. normally its warm and the occasional thunder storm, but last year it was constantly pouring down rain. first moderate flood benalla has seen since 93 happened in august, and it lasted basically 3/4 of it too. in early septmber, was the first major-moderate flood benalla has seen since 93, lasted bout 2 days. again in late september a moderate flood occured. 2010/2011 summer, was the strangest summer my dads seen, and he's been around since the stoneage. it was basically like the summers they have up in the tropics; extremely humid, constantly raining. every other summer, 0% humidity, no rain for atleast 3 months prior, and no rain during summer, and no rain for 1 month after. heck, victoria had the 7th worst bushfire in history in the summer of 08/09 due to how hot it was and how dry it was (some fires were deliberatley lit though), the rest of the top 10 occued 200+ years ago. but in 10/11 summer, first time in victoria's history, it flooded, in most towns. wettest summer on record, and another first, the stocky (a little bridge thats frequently used) went under in feburary. i still cant get over how humid it was for victoria. as for the rest of australia, well, north queensland had a cyclone stronger than katrina, brisbane, rockhampton, and alot of other towns all had bad floods, and a town west of brisbane, (forgot the name, but i believe it was in a valley) had what was described as an inland tsunami. the death toll was suprising. perth had fires (which is un related to the weather as it was arsonal) but the idiots probably decided to do it then as they were experiencing a heat wave then.
it'll be really interesting to see what this spring and summer is like. the grounds already soaked up with water. in a way i kind of want another flood to happen, one like the 93 ones, i know it may sound stupid but it gets the community spirit going and theres nothing to do or see around here anyway.
i think all this unuasal weathers cause of the changing of the magnetic feild of the sun, making the earth alot more vulnerable to space storms. it is supposed to happen in 2012 i beleive, so maybe these are just the early stages or something. the real concern is the sun spot flares though. apparently when the magnetic feild is at its unstablest, various sun spots give off dangerous flares, which if the earth is in the path, its gonna cause alot of trouble. eg; the earth most likely will have blackouts in the places close to our north and south pole. isn't it even funnier how its supposed to happen in 2012? i dont believe in that crap anyway.
OR it could be cause of global warming, thats a whole nother 2 paragraphs i could write about that.....

anyway sorry for my rant, i just think this weather the earth's experiencing is the beggining of something big thats all.....

Now that the tropical depression has passed by, things are back to what passes for normal around here -- sunny and hot with an afternoon t/storm.

It occurs to me that I haven't checked the hurricane report in quite a while. The Big One might be heading my way right now.

Hotter than a 16 year old boy in a cathouse with Daddy's credit card here in Texoma.

Dry, too. I'm afraid to hiccup in the front yard because it might start a grass fire. Nearby Lake Texoma is down ten feet at least.

The ground is cracking and the house is shifting. We're all gonna turn into beef jerky.

We've had a great summer in Alberta. 70 to 80 almost every day with bright blue skies. Perfect for hiking in the mountains. I liked it the few times I lived near the ocean 'except' for the gray skies.

very wet spring, hot and dry summer, a few record hot days, the really good news is we haven't had one bad air quality warning, usually I can look out my office window, 16th floor, on a really hot humid air and see the yellow air, not once this summer.

Your area's plight made the evening news here in the NYC area. I'm sure I can speak for all here when I say we hope you get a break very soon. The news did say that some storms are coming your way so maybe they'll help. Hang tough and be careful.

As a geologist I can say that your concept of 'hot' is not the same as that of us Earthlings.

An average temperature on Mars in the 'hot zone' is minus 50c...cold enough to freeze your pee before it hits the ground. Sublimation would then cause it to evaporate as ice crystals. No yellow patches left as evidence.

On Venus it would be 'hot'...average of 450c or so.

I'm sure the weather changes are wreaking havoc for farmers, but for myself, cooler summers in San Diego (southern California) are WONDERFUL! Especially as the office where I work is not air conditioned.

I used to live in the midwest and do remember the humidity. And I had to go to Orlando Florida once for 2 months, arriving there at the beginning of September. I just remember changing planes in Atlanta, and when I got off the plane it felt like walking into a wall of water. UGH! I don't miss the humidity at all.
