Ah Ceri! What an amazingly British sense of humour!
Good on ya.

Best of luck and stay careful.

Yeah! right Ceri, the midlands seems to be getting a lot tonight as well. Birmingham, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton.
The riots seem a bit different tonight. In Manchester we are getting small pockets of violence, spread over wide areas and seemingly being orchestrated by leaders on push-bikes, can you believe, directing looters to various locations. Making it difficult for the police to apprehend these yobs.
We do indeed live in interesting times.

Gridlok, thank you kindly. I will - I have too much to lose.

...Ah-ha: may be onto something there...

Oh Rhumba: my wife is from Manchester, as you know. And last night as reports came in from Birmingham and Liverpool that they had trouble too we were sardonically saying; "C'mon Manchester, don't get left out". Now we could kick ourselves... :(

Cheers - C

In your most educated guess, what's it really all about? and hoos behind it? :(

----Danny,

That's a difficult one Danny, mainly because I'm not very well educated (Come on man, have you not read any of my posts  ) But seriously, they reckon the kids have been getting a raw deal out of life for some time now. No prospects, no future, that kind of thing. You know? Like we never had to go through hard times when we were kids.
And this is them responding to their situation.
However, this is not mindless, even though it appears so. There does seem to be a kind of weird order and mind control behind it, coming from somewhere by some persons.
Kinda makes you wonder where? or what? this is leading up to.
We will come to know, in time.

glad to hear you are okay mr. ceri.
this is the exact reason i own high capacity semi-auto rifles. all purchased legally and registered. one for me and one for mrs. jeebus. alot of people will say i'm paranoid and they are right. you'd like to think that something like this will never happen in your community. but sometimes it does, doesn't it?

Meant to be doing the family rounds this week in the midlands but with the trouble in West Brom, Birmingham and Wolverhampton might be steering clear. Even some small scale trouble here in Cheltenham but nothing too serious, very heavy police presence around with lots of riot vans and 4x4's doing the rounds.

Heard rumours of trouble in Cardiff and plans to kick off in Swindon, part of me feels like unless the police come down hard there is plenty of life left in this yet. God forbid if some of the northern and scottish cities go full scale there could be some real problems.

Good to plan ahead jeebuss.

Dont forget to keep plenty of Ammo. Keep a thousands rounds plus at least hundred shot shells in the cabinet

You just never know when a need will arise.

There is an awful lot of unrest among the youth in the U.S. as well. In fact its not just the young people, everyone is fed up with the current state of affairs. It probably wouldn't take much to trigger something here to. I think our Authorities wouldn't be so gentle as yours have been. They tried it in Seattle a fue Months ago and dident get to far before they disbursed. The police were surprisingly TAME. but performed very well in keeping things under control. Thank God. Take Care of yourselves and stay safe.

cvilleira, i took care of all that awhile back. i'm glad i did. i am fortunate to have friends and family that have done the same. we have somewhere to go where we can eat without standing in line to slide a debit card. electricity is a luxury, not a necessity.
i hope this crap over there ends now.

Rumours of shots fired in Birmingham in the last half hour. Pretty close to home for me. Unsure if this is use of force by police or by rioters.

Seems to be an officer shot, on way to hospital....

This could lead to some heavy action.

Armed police out and about in Birmingham according to friends in the area.
