Well, loud clean sounds don't always have to do with the guitar. The amp has just as much to do with that. Believe me, a strat pushing a wide open Marshall 50W Plexi is plenty loud. Got any examples of the tone your lookin for?

You need a Telecaster, because on the 8th day God created the Telecaster. 8)

well, pretty much any single coil guitar can get decent "loud, clean tones".... thats pretty much the amp..... i'd recommend a strat or tele, but with that broad range, go to a guitar center or something and try as many guitars in your price range to find one that suits you

You could get a Jaguar HH. It has dragster humbuckers instead of the single coils.

I vote for the Tele. If you need a bit more punch, the '72 Tele Thinline RI is a good choice (twin humbuckers). Both sound great clean, but as was already said, the amp has a LOT to do with it. I once had a Marshall JCM 800 (not a reissue), and I couldn't really get a clean tone that I liked out of it. That's probably why I don't have one anymore!
