Could this be? I just got an email about Ringo Starr, that stated:

"The joyous result of Starr looking in the mirror is Y Not, a groovy and deeply felt song cycle that finds Ringo leading a smaller core group of old and new friends including longtime pal and recent brother-in-law Joe Walsh..."

Their doing an album together?

I never get tired of hearing Joe Walsh play his guitar. I remember him being the highlight of the Eagles concert I went to years ago. I'd love to catch him in a solo gig or the occasional James Gang concert that gets put on.

I assembled a whole cd collection of various songs and interviews of Joe and my favorite was this one:

He is very funny and so low key about everything  "There's a couple years that are pretty fuzzy to me....."

His Drew Carey spots were funny but not particularly musical. He's written a ton of great music, he's a good showman, very talented and not much talked about.

Thirds was my favourite James Gang album,it has Funk 49,Rocky Mountain Way and Walk Away on it.Joe Walsh is another one of rock's great guitarists that never got the attention he deserved.

I'm glad this old thread was dug up. I have a lot of great memories of Joe Walsh and the James Gang. In '68, '69 I was living in Mentor, Ohio, outside of Cleveland. We had a Hullabaloo Club and The James Gang was basically the house band. At first they had a real character on lead guitar named Glen Schwartz. He left for Frisco and joined Pacific Gas & Electric. Joe Walsh was the new replacement and he was just as much of a character as Glen. The club only held about 200 people, so the weekend shows were pretty intimate affairs. One Sunday afternoon the Yardbirds came through doing a bus tour and The James Gang opened for them. The Yardbirds had a new guitarist called Jimmy Page. After the James Gang did their opening act, Page comes walking onstage carrying an acoustic guitar and a chair. He starts playing and blows everyone away, and no one complains a bit about having to wait to see The Yardbirds. I was standing about ten feet in front of him, never realizing what an icon he was going to become. After the show, both bands hung out in the parking lot by the bus. I stuck around to observe. It was real obvious they were all heavily medicated and having trouble walking. I didn't have the guts to walk up and talk to any of them. I often wonder if Joe remembers that show.
