My two favorite Joe tunes, post James Gang, are Meadows and Country Fair. Good stuff.

I remember seeing him live with Ringo Starr back in the late 80's.

Despite having a former Beatle and some other popular and talented musicians the biggest applause and cheering of the the night was when Joe started up "Rocky Mountain Way." The second biggest was when he staretd up "Life in the Fast Lane"

i saw joe several times. first was many years ago- around 1970 i believe. i attended a chicago concert at the fieldhouse on the university of toledo campus. the james gang opened the show, and blew me away. i was an instant fan.

in the summer of 72 he played at the agora. loudest concert i've ever been to

mid-70's- cleveland, oh- walsh, reo, lynyrd skynrd, and the beach boys.

still one of my fav. pickers

There was a thread wheres cryingstrat a while ago that lasted a while. The only thing I learned is that he may have moved to Turks and Caicos island chain in the caribean sea. Wonder if he took his EJ with him.

It's nice to see all you 'youngins' finally latching onto another outstanding guitarist from MY prime. Granted, he's a bit crispy but all in all, he's one of those players you can take a LOT more of than others, if you catch my drift.

There's no doubt in my mind that if the Eagles didn't bring Joe Walsh in, they as a band and as solo artists, would have faded into oblivion decades ago.

Frankly, I don't think Joe Walsh will ever have a signature guitar. He claims he uses a very diverse variety of guitars, based on the mood he's in on a given day and on any of these given days, he'll choose a handful and go with them.

Great song. That one ended up on the Eagles' "Hotel Califonia", right?

I am a huge Joe Walsh fan. If you don't have it, get his live "You Can't Argue With A Sick Mind". It's my favorite album of his (better than the James Gang Rides Again imo).

In the City is on the Long Run Album. I really like Joe and his work...regarding the Eagles, I think that Glenn Frey and Don Henley got a bit to big for their breeches.......

Always liked Joe Walsh's guitar work from the James Gang and on. Barnstorm is an album that I listened to a lot, fav song from that 'Turn To Stone'. Saw him at the Park West in '96 or '97 great show. His singing is unique but fits him so right.

Man, James Gang Rides Again, that brings back some memories. Back when that album came out (1970 I think) I had a Ford Econoline Van with a Fender Bassman cab in the back (2 x15) that was split into a stereo connected to a....8-track player. We would open the back doors, flip the cab over and crank it up in a big park and play Funk#49. People would come out of the woods thinking there was a live band. Lot's of recreational things happening back then.

Of course, only a teen, we played several of James Gang tunes in the band. Still play Funk#49 once in awhile! Thanks for bringing back memories.

I remember watching Joe Walsh and friends on Don Kirshners Rock Concert. I was suitably altered and downed an entire bag of Dorito's. Don Felder from the Eagles was part of the band. It was shortly after that show that Joe was asked to join the Eagles. He changed that band big time.

cryingstrat!!! nice to see you back!
i saw that same show.
back in "the day" the rare extended version of "the bomber" was one of my neighborhood gang's favorites. me and my buddy larry still rock out to some of the old james gang songs.
my personal favorites are "collage" and "the ashes the rain and i".
great stuff!
