He's a hometown boy from ohio. Made good. Innovative for his time.

Lunchline marching out. Wassup!

Vito? Tasteful and melodic shredder in an unfortunate band.

7. You have to love his look. Pretty good player, I saw FNM on their first tour and they did not disappoint.

Nancy Wilson stole my heart, a 10, like no other.

Had to google Igor, nice style there, very individualistic and a nice treatment of Sultans of Swing.

This guy ...

Richard Thompson: 7.5 --- My score here is likely a little low based more on unfamiliarity. The attached sound clip was a humorous Brittany Spears song. Unique picking technique, nice tone. If I heard more of his material, there is a good chance he would score higher.

Next one: Robbie Blunt -- Most notably known for being the guitar player for Robert Plant for his first four solo albums after Led Zeppelin (listed below). Check out "Big Log" and "Burning Down One Side" if you need some specific tracks to checkout.
Pictures at Eleven (1982)
The Principle of Moments (1983)
The Honeydrippers: Volume One (1984)
Shaken 'n' Stirred (1985)

Robbie Blunt ... a very skilful player with a great tone and technique. I hated Robert Plant's first solo albums in the 1980s (because it wasn't Led Zeppelin) and I hated Robbie Blunt's guitar sound (because he wasn't Jimmy Page). As my tastes have mellowed in the intervening years I think it's time for me to have a Robert Plant retrospective.

Sorry, I can't help myself ...... dude, just one word: EXACTLY!!!!
I made the same revelation, and re-discovered those Robbie Blunt-era Robert Plant albums as true gems. I think with Robbie's amazing guitar playing, these are some of the very best albums to come out of the entire decade. That is the reason I threw him in here. Also nice is the production on the albums is good and is not that "over done 1980s style" production.

This is a great Robbie Blunt showcase track ...

http://www.myvideo.de/watch/7330631/ROB ... AN_DETROIT

It's very clever how the rhythm does a push through the verses then veers away from the vocal line in the "no I don't know" sections. And the picked guitar breakdown is just wonderful. I think I bought my first chorus pedal after hearing that.

Do I get to nominate someone now? I'm going to choose my favourite bass player, Yolanda Charles.

Yolanda Charles, pretty good, a solid 5.

To stay with bass guitar, rate Cliff Williams:
