Well, this game is pretty simple.... i'll name a guitarist, the next person rates them out of 10 (it's all opinion, don't get offended anyone) and give a brief comment if you'd like... then you post a guitarist and we'll just continue from there

so i'll start

Slash

7.5 He played in Guns and Roses and Velvet Revolver. A pentatonic gunslinger for sure. If you want loud in your face guitar then Slash delivers.

8.5 Very different in his sound and was somewhat of a hermit after he fell off the map. Was founder of Fleetwood Mac

I have the Peter Green mod done to Gibson LP.

John looked much better this weekend then in a long time, Smack is bad! John can play it just about any style and earns it the old fashion way. May be the best all round guitar player around today.

Plus he plays a Strat and is the guitarist in Red Hot Chili Peppers.

oops;

8 for originality. He made the whammy pedal famous. Rage anyone? Now is turning into a modern Bobby Dylan.

Matt Bellamy of Muse

http://youtube.com/watch?v=U5lNAUrGJ3k (piano at the beginning, but the guitar is good with a lot of energy)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ncO5O37fNqQ (one of the best / most fun riffs to play for me)

Bellamy is one of the few people that uses crazy sounds to make something that is actually fun to listen to. (plus his guitars kick $@!)
