I assume you're listening to his Chess recordings--The Great Twenty-Eight" is an awesome compiliation--but for a different bend on his classic songs, give his Mercury recordings a spin.
He re-cut some of his more famous singles for Mercury in the mid-60s(I think?), and while they're not necessarily better than the Chess versions (in most cases they're not), it kinda gives you a different "look" at the same songs.

Also, you can punch out Keith Richards the first time you meet him and then apolgize to Ronnie Wood (mistaking him for Keith) for doing it years later. (That really happened)... :lol:

Chuck says he got his style from T-Bone Walker. and Mickey Baker who played in Louis Jordan's band. Another thing to be aware of is that a lot of his early Chess stuff was "speeded up" to make him sound younger and to give the songs a bit more edge. :wink:
