I like New Belgium beer. I'm partial to Abbey and Trippel. Fat Tire isn't bad either. I also like Spaten Optimator. I live in Oklahoma, where domestic beers are always 3.2% alcohol, and they taste awful and give you a headache instead of a buzz. I avoid 3.2% beer at all cost. If somebody offers me a 3.2 beer I politely decline.

Title says it all I guess. With the heat and humidity here I'm getting back into the practice of grabbing a cold one every once in awhile. After not partaking for a long time I've noticed the taste buds have really been able to quite discriminating ....and thanl God for Micro-Breweries :D

I'm a beer snob myself. I avoid domestic beer like the plague. Give me a microbrew or an import.

I lived close to the Adolf Coors brewery when I was young. You could drink when you were 18 then. The Coors family political influence had nothing to do with it, believe me!! Many nights after classes at CU we would start the night with several free Pills. at the brewery. Thus, later in life, the now popular heavy micro brews leave me with an bad after taste. In the mid 60's (thanks to our haywire gov't) I learned to like the French "33" in Cu Chi, Saigon. Then in the late 70's, El Boson Blanca was my choice when I spent a year in Buenos Aires (sorry had to leave) during the time of the right wing military/religious dictators (think Santorum, Romney) gained power which gave them the right to kill. I'm sorry... I get this way after a couple of beers. Coors light is my favorite!!

A good microbrew has a pleasant aftertaste. That's the best part of a beer as you can't really taste it going down.

And when I was 18, you could still buy beer at that age in Louisiana. That was only 20 years ago. ******* feds.

Bugo,
I'm not going to argue with at guy from LA. Nobody has a better palate. I love your food and drink, nothing , I mean nothing tops! Can't wait to return, I now live in St. Louis, and my best friend has lived there for 30yrs and my wife and I can't wait for a return visit.

I'm not from Louisiana. I'm from a small town in Arkansas, and I now live in Oklahoma. I went to Shreveport to see a Metallica concert (yeah, yeah, I know...but at least I don't listen to them anymore.) I bought a 4 pack of Purple Passion (this was before I started drinking beer.) I was 18 at the time. I have been to Louisiana several times in my lifetime, but I haven't been to New Orleans since I was 2.

Used to drink Labatt's Blue but now partial to the Belgium beer 'Stella Artois'. ('over six hundred years of brewing expertise', so it says on the box)
