Yep that is a good one...my brother is going to see him in South Bend, don't remember the date, but it is coming up fairly soon...lucky bastard!

Another under appreciated artist...

The only things he is known for are "Bad To The Bone" and "One Bourbon..." and that's a shame. As good of a slid player as he is, he's also smart enough to get great guitarists in his band with him (Jim Suhler from Dallas, Texas is one of his band members).

His records are good, live he is great.

My favorite GT&TDD album is Boogie People...especially "Hello Little Girl" (old Chuck Berry tune) and "If You Don't Start Drinkin' (I'm Gonna Leave)"

Loudest show I've ever been to!
I saw him 11 or 12 years ago at a small venue, and it was sooo loud. My ears rang for 3 days after! I'm sure I sustained some hearing damage that night!

The year that George Thorogood and the Destroyers opened for the Stones, they followed it with an epic tour of their own. When they came through San Clemente, my shop sold tickets and the bass player bought a white Jazz Bass from us. I was back stage at the concert. Somebody stole George's snake skin jacket off the edge of the stage. I found a girl that knew who had it and convinced her to get it and turn it over to me. She got the jacket and I turned it over to the roadie and told him the girl wants to party in the band's motor home. No problem.

George is wearing the jacket in this version of Bad to the Bone:
