Hi good people, i have an opportunity to trade my mint hot rod deluxe plus $350 cash for a mint 65' reissue fender twin reverb. Should i jump on it? Thanks very much for opinions!

Seems like a fair deal to me, if both are indeed in mint condition. Just taking a quick look on eBay, used Twin Reverb Reissues seem to be going for about $700-800, Hot Rod Deluxes for about $350-400. You'd definitely be upgrading by going to the Twin.

Yep that is a fair deal for sure...and the Twin Reissues are much more gig worthy.

I agree with everyone else, definitely something you should jump on. I used to own a HRDx and upgraded to a Vibroverb. The first time I played the VV I remember thinking "That's what a Fender is suppose to sound like."

It would be an upgrade in quality and the extra wattage and speaker will move more air. If you enjoy clean clear notes or chords the Twin Reverb will give you all you can handle. It has much more headroom. If you enjoy the dirty gritty tone of the drive channels in the Hot Rod you will need to invest in a good overdrive pedal to get that out of the Reverb. I'd trade up if it was me. Its a fair trade but not a steal by any means.

PS: The Reverb is significantly heavier than the Hot Rod. If you have roadies no problem. :D

Positively you'd be getting the better end of the deal.

Pfft- real men carry their own amps. ;)

I used to lug around an original 1965 Twin Reverb, complete with two ridiculously hefty ElectroVoice speakers. It weighed something stupid like 110lbs... when popped on an actual weighing scale. But yeah... definitely a good workout..!

I'd jump on that deal and never look back. The Twin is so much better amp than the HRD.
