I'm hoping somebody can answer this for me here. I figure you all are very knowledgeable on all things equipment so here goes...

I can't afford a reverb effect pedal at this time. My amp does not have reverb. I do however have a small practice amp that has reverb. It's a Line6 SpiderIII 15 watt amp. It has a guitar line in and a phones/record out jack on the front. The obvious answer is just to try it, but I can't afford to break anything. I'm new to the world of pedals and am happily enjoying an MXR Carbon Copy, a Boss EQ and a Digitech Bad Monkey. I just would love some reverb! Is there anyway I can get the reverb off the Line6 and onto my main amp, even if I have to disassemble the Line6 to do so?

Thanks all,
-Kirk

I can't live without reverb.

Rather than wreck your line 6, why not place a local ad and offer to trade it for a reverb pedal?

Don't be fussy about the make of pedal...they are all good these days and it's just a matter of personal choice

I often get guitar/practice amp combos when buying used guitars and, rather than stack the amp in the closet, I trade tI. I like to 'stuff' trade for pedals because I get offers of all types of weird pedals I've never heard of to add to my collection.

Probably the wisest choice. I didn't really wanna wreck the amp if I didn't have to... It's in nice shape.

That "phones/record out" won't do it for me, right? I thought maybe (Now don't laugh or shun me) by using the guitar input then out through the phones/record out I could use it as an effect/preamp thing. No?

Your idea is worth a try. You Line 6 on your cleanest channel with reverb on and then into the tube amp. Can't hurt anything as opposed to going the other way (I don't 'think' it can hurt anything...famous last words). Might sound great or might sound like hell.

I've tried lots of strange combinations, hooking up 3 mfx pedals in a row into an amp, etc.

The good thing about keeping one SS amp is it has a headset plug in as your tube amp probably doesn't.

Hmm... what's the worst that could happen... haha. I think I'll wait for a definitive answer. I can't afford to lose any equipment. Thank you though!
