New single out from one of my favourite bands- The Twang.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZSJdJbqAXE

Really glad to hear that delay can still be a big player in someone's arsenal along with raw tone coming out... anyone else digging it? 8)

I dig.

I really like this Brit-pop rock (although many fans probably think they're totally different from Oasis, that was my first impression), but I don't own anything by these types of bands and they don't get any airplay in the region I currently reside (where they play both kinds of music--country and western!).

My daughter's recently gotten me hooked on some British songstresses like Adele, too. (I was already a fan of Joss Stone, Duffy and Amy Winehouse). My wife expressed surprise, because of the "pop" influences, but I reminded her that these artists (and this band you linked to) have soul, which is so sorely and sourly lacking in most American pop right now.

Most of the American pseudo-soulful singers have just become vocal acrobats, flying high in the air and circling the note seventeen times before hitting it. I can't stand it. Most of the modern R&B sucks, American pop is dead and American Idol has ruined the radio.

Where is a revolutionary band when you need one?

thanks for the link--I'm going to investigate these guys further.

Great band, the lead singer's voice reminds me of Bob Welch of Fleetwood Mac.

Armadillo - if you like these folks, have a listen to White Lies (in particular, Unfinished Business), and have a poke around some Stereophonics if you've not already!

The Twang have done a couple of albums. Their first one is very raw, makes them out to be lager-swilling louts. The second one is a lot prettier. Standout tracks from both: Either Way, Two Lovers, Wide Awake, Encouraging Sign, May I Suggest and Ice Cream Sunday. They also did a wicked cover of Drinking In LA!

guitslinger - it's quite a distinctive sound! In the older stuff it was always more of a Streets-style kind of rap with the second singer doing a pretty chorus, but these days they both seem to have a melodic aspect. Obviously the ex-talker found his singing voice...

Just had a listen to it with fresh ears. I like this. Roll on their next show...

One thing I can say about it. You know its Brit as soon as it comes out of the speakers. It is a well mixed song, well played and well written lyrically. Just enough delay to make it feel ethereal without sounding like it was recorded in a cathedral. Thanks Vlad good stuff.

WOW! you guys sound great! I'll be checking out more of your material. I really liked the dynamics in the music, and the band sounds tight. It's refreshing to hear music that is just that, music.

Like you said about American Idol, Pop Idol and XFactor over here has also destroyed mainstream radio over here to.

However that being said there is talent around if you dig for it. I'm not Adeles biggest fan but she writes some great songs and has a fantastic live voice, really excellent. I also love that here she is signed to XL, which is an independant british label, and these labels need some big stars to compete against the big guns, even if she is signed to Columbia in the US.

The Brit-Pop emergence in the 90's still is one of my favourite eras in music, and there is still a lot of good stuff about that I wish could come to the surface for the masses.

Although the pro's to them not getting mainstream support is of course the bands tour constantly so we get to see them all the time!

Now apologies as I know that this isn't related to this band but now I'm talking about it I'm going to share probably one of my favourite songs of the era/of all time! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bR8XH3R95xE

As for the band in the thread, I'm gonna have to check them out for sure, see if they're near my town any time soon.

I guess I should have read your post more carefully, because I thought it was your band. Oh well, practice, practice, practice, and your band will be just as tight,
