Recently I attended an Outdoor retirement party for a friend. A young band was featured as entertainment. The young kids were pretty good but were having lots of gear troubles. The most noticeable thing was that there was no Level stage to speak of. They through some pallets together and covered them with plywood. The poor guys kept tripping over the edges. I guess I'm probably the only one that noticed. It would have been better for them if they could have been elevated a couple feet above the yard so they could be seen. I know that in the beginning you'll play any Gig you can get, but damn. sometimes the kids could use a little help. Like an adequate stage. I hope they don't have to play to many more like that one. :roll: :)

Well I can understand their difficulty. I've played outdoor gigs on flatbed trailers and that isn't much better either! But you do what you have to do "for music."

Playing on bare concrete is the worst!

Ideally you can search for a portable staging company like one we have near here. It is hard for some bands to fork out the money though. Every penny spent on production cuts into the bottom line.

We've a similar rental outfit locally two. These young band managers shold include this in there charges. :)
