What style do you play?
Where do/have you recorded?
Do you have a band? and whats the name?
Do you have any albums out in the market?

reason i ask is that you seem very informed
and knowlegable on these subjects and i am
always ready to learn new things.

and this isnt an attack on your integrity just
a fellow musician asking to be enlightened by
another member who has more experience then I

Thanks...Frank

Frank--Because this is a Fender site there's an assumption that everybody in here is, was or aspires to do nothing but stand in front of a band rockin the house with Fender gear. I've done that, but when you want to make a living at the music game, you explore all kinds of things. I've led bands, scored films and video games, produced pop stars and the London Symphony, recorded at Ocean Way, Abbey Road, Lion's Gate, Hollywood Sound, been engineered by George Massenburg, mastered records with Bernie Grundman. That's what you do to make a living and move forward. The rock star stuff is like pro sports: it's not likely to last long at all. You need fall back.

I'm sure a lot of folks in here aren't just band players. They write songs, sing, arrange choir performances, teach music, are music students. It's great that Fender makes this excellent gear, and it serves all kinds of needs, not just song-based careers.

A manager at GC told me once, "Everybody assumes we mainly sell our stuff to wannabee rock stars. That that's where we make most of our money. You wanna know where the majority of our sales comes from? The Christian music market. PA systems for churches and concerts, band equipment for all the Christian bands, you name it, it's a HUGE market. And they come in here and pay list for everything. THAT'S how we can afford to sell you that Blues Delluxe for $529. We can lower our margins across the board because the sacred music world is paying top dollar in high volume. Thank you, Jesus!"

Anyways, I always encourage guitarists to look at guys like Stewart Copeland and women like Kaki King (who I've tried get into film scoring). They expand the song-based paradigm into something much larger. Bands are great, but why stop there? Especially since there's always gonna be somebody younger and cuter. Music can go anyplace you want to take it.

So you are saying that you are not in a band, but you have been in a band? What was that bands name?

I'm starting up a blues-based band based on new material I've put together even now. Life is about moving on, not looking back. That's for critics and posers. Every minute we spend in here we're not making music. Kick us out, Brad! 8^>

And YOU are what's important, not me. Finding your voice, your sound, your groove in a world that's overpopulated and pressuring you to follow somebody's else's joint. That's the toughest thing of all. And friends won't help you. It's a solo thing.

All I wanna know is if you got MARUUK from Star Trek TNG episode 157 "The Vengence Factor", or the Inuktitut language for the number 2?

Ha! I know I come off like Simon sometimes. But he's a producer too, we get paid to be the opinionated Master of the Ship. And that can get pretty obnoxious. But it's the only way it works in the studio at $50,000 an hour.

I'm not saying it's hogwash. Then again, you can't blame someone for thinking that when a person claims an amazing resume, drops some huge names and doesn't offer anything to back it up. Of course it's all easily cleared up.

agree with cryingstrat and firstmeasure, not to distrust you(is that a word?), but you don't answer any questions, what is your name and what album-covers can it be seen on? It's almost like listening to a politician

Again, this is not a personal attack
