Not onyl have we allowed our country to become the world's bully, we've now allowed them to effect our own rights personally. We keep drawing a line and saying cross here, they do it, we draw another line and the cycle keeps going on. What's gonna have to happen next, freedom of speech is out of question, freedom of protest is out due to the public's large lack of uncaringness, the government does not know best, this country was founded on that principle!

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy. ~James Madison

NC, keeping your negative opinions to yourself could be a better choice. Call Americans terrorists again and you can find another internet Forum to hang out. It will be better that way. If you don't like America, then go somewhere that you do like.
Being Patriotic, isnt trusting or liking your government, but having faith in your country, and id o, i believe either my generation or my childrens will straiten things out a little, maybe theyll get off of there asses a protest. And instead of just getting mad about my opinions, as they have always been OPINIONS, why dont you defend your country. Im just one person, so who am I? I will admit my comments were rather anti American, but I love this country, and if you love your country you see its faults just as well as its glory. I mean we can sit around and embellish upon the fact that we have the strongest military force, make the world more peaceful, most prosperous lives, act like our crap doesnt stink and make this into a Fox News Special and get no where, or we can face our problems and progress as a nation. Just raisin awarness

You can call it blind hatred towards christianity however there are many countries with a much much higher percentage of christian followers which have never felt the touch of islamic extremists.

You hear things such as "the country that pretty much single handedly created the free world" and you wonder why people in foreign lands get pissed off with the attitude of certain countries thinking they are better than everyone else...

You have the guts to set there behind your computer and call patriotism a form of blindness. In America we are taught at an early age to believe that, "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL". That doesn't mean that Americas are better than every one else. Americas Loyalty to freedom loving people has been tested time and time again, and each time we have entered into a conflict it has been with that taught in mind. AMERICA is the greatest country in the world. There is a small line in a song that we all love that sais "LET FREEDOME REIGN" not A#2$@ that think there better than everyone else. :x
----Danny,
Then why do we see fit to force our ideals of a proper society on everybody else, Vietnam, the Cold War

Neg Creep sounds like maybe you might benefit from a little Military Training yourself...Sounds like others in your family had the balls to do it, maybe you should follow suit before you sprout your second hand opinionated BS!

I would personally love to get your pot smoking supporting azz in a basic training environment...I saw lots of DA's like you and they were the first to cry as soon as another instructor got in thier face!

I spent 28 years supporting this country as a active duty Air Force member and most of the ones like you ended up being the ones I shoved right back out the gate because you could not be counted on to man up when it counted! You need to walk a couple miles in some real shoes before you spout the crap you call an opinion.

----Danny,
Actually ironic how they turned out, my gramps went crazy, like no joke, like literally the stereotypical war scarred vet; uncle became a meth addict and is now a drifter, and my brother is a complete anarchist.. Though I have seriously considered the Air Force, ill wait to America is in an actual war thats worth fighting for first. And like I said, insults really arent helping yalls opinions, but then again i apparently stand alone so this is going to be "one of those" threads. But how about this, Ill completley change my opinions about everything if you give me ten valid and unshakeable reasons why what i said is wrong.

True, but like i said, who am i, and who are the crooks that hid behind you spouting their opinions, difference was they got there way, and look where we are now. I must say thank you for defending this country and risking your life despite our differences, sincerely.

Neg Creep,

You missed the point when you said we (America) pushed it's system of government onto other countries (Vietman, etc,.)...those countries had governments that were not only corrupt, but were killing their own people en mass to stay in power and enslave thier own people. This is not something our government does...Our Country has always stood for people having the right (that I might point out you have, even as misguided as you seem to be) to live the way they wish in FREEDOM.

Vietnam (and Iran is a prime example of this as is most of the middle east for example) are using a dictatorial system or as in the case of the middle east corrupting a religion to CONTROL thier people. Do you honestly think those people if they had a legitimate choice would rather be under the system of government they are or would they rather be living in a Free Nation?

You might want to spend some time learning abit about world politics first hand as I have done, before you throw out some of the crap you did. You also said you stand alone on this...that should be a BIG hint that maybe you are just wrong...be big enough to admit that and you might actually take a step towards being not only a better human being, but a better citizen of this country. Whether you agree with everything this country does, you as a citizen have a responsibility to get involved with making it better, not tearing it down with opinions you picked up from someone else, but based on what you have done or accomplished for yourself. I hope this helps you gain a better understanding of what it truely means to live in a Free Country.

I don't think Negative Creep is alone here - he's much further out along the extreme and admittedly I don't agree with his conclusions about terrorism. If the listed quotes he posted are wrong nobody has disputed them. Are they wrong?

I don't see any justification for calling him a coward or threatening to beat him up. When someone posts an opinion you don't agree with, show them where their facts are wrong or their conclusions aren't supported by their evidence. This thread has unfortunately wandered way off from where it was intended and I don't see anyone saying anything valuable - me included.

2 cents worth from the recently retrenched...

I can't really elaborate too much just because what I do(USN Special Warfare Combatcraft Crewman).

But basically, compared to past deployments right now, the major cells we strike against are way more disorganized. They don't cover as great an area, they don't hold the sway and support they used to have with the people, we have so many countermeasures, their numbers are smaller, and with every failure of theirs or every major strike we nail, more infighting seems to occur.

It's a good feeling that I can actually see a difference made. That said, our biggest failure has been establishing infrastructure, and if we fail to take this oppurtunity then it will all have been for naught.

You think they could just be getting smarter? How do you defeat a Country that you can't beat Militarily ? Could it be economically, control the Worlds largest energy supplies? Take advantage of a clueless leader who refuses to tap his own energy supplies? Coal one of the largest reserves in the World, Alaska Reserves, Gulf reserves.

Now our leadership sits on it's hands while the Muslim Brotherhood quietly increases power in middle eastern countries under the guise of democracy. Things are more dangerous now then a couple years ago. The silence before the storm! Be assured of it!
