If you hear something somewhat strange, it's Les Paul (the MAN) spinning in his grave.

http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/Ukulele/Epiphone/Les-Paul-Ukulele.aspx

Cashing in on a faddish ukelele craze with Lester's name is (at best) improper and (at worst) sacrilege...and I'm not even a Gibson player!

I love offbeat and traditional instruments (like the Uke, the mandolin, etc.), but Henry Juszkiewicz must be stopped. Today.

He didn't want his name on (what became) SGs. No way would he go for this. On a semi-related note, I cracked up laughing when I saw the MSPs for current Les Pauls. YMMV.

Coming from a company that releases a Keifer Sutherland signature guitar and a " long anticipated Hendrix model" that turns out to be a Strat with a Gibson nameplate on it, nothing surprises me.

Les Paul shaped ukuleles have been around for ages, and I don't see the problem with them. I'd much rather gibson make quirky little ukes than have them wreck classic designs in the name of "progress" if I'm honest.

Here is a recent gibson offering which I actually really like http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Bass/Gibson-USA/LP-Junior-DC-Bass.aspx
