I think that the only reason the Pres wants to raise the Debt ceiling is so he can send more on his buddys. They should all be tried for treason for distroying this country for their own political reasons. OK im done with that.

I'm prepared to weather any manner of "apocalypse".

Let the mutually-fellating politicians wallow in their own mess!

We are going to get a lower rating no matter what happens. So I am in the camp of DON'T raise it and force our bloated, disrespectul, dishonest government to live within its means just like the rest of us.

I'm for a Revolution at the ballot box during the next mid terms and the next presidential election to clear out all these bums and stop spending money on all the insane things our gov thinks is important.

I'm a small government, Constitution loving Conservative . . . oh, did I just say that out loud?

Oops.

good time to be buying stocks, certain stocks

for the first time in recorded history all the politicians are talking about reigning in the deficit, and the common folk buy into the story as well, deficit cutters will be viewed as heroes

opens the door for anyone on the govenment payroll to see their incomes / benefits cuts, revenues cut, future benefits cuts etc by politicians who will be seen as acting rationally, up to now acting fiscally responsible was a good way to loose votes.

smaller government coming, will be good for some, bad for others.

I find it quite interesting that EVERYONE I talk to feels the same way about what is going on in this country. Im glad the Fender Forums are no different. What happened to working hard to get what you want? This is not the same country I grew up with.
I completed 8th grade then got my GED when I turned 15(Im 30 now). I am "poor" because I have no education but I work my butt off and can keep a roof over my head, food on the table, health insurance and some guitars to play with. Im serious when I say this, LIFE IS GOOD! Poor is in quotes because apparently not having the latest phone,a flat screen tv and a new car makes it so. I made these choices and I have to deal with it. It's time people start becoming personally responsible.

+1! The USA is going the way of the Roman Empire unless it finds a way to reign in its spending, pay off its debts and reestablish its manufacturing base.

A good way to start would be by cutting things like...government sponsored cell phones.

This is another little video about the beginnings of SALISHAN in Tacoma, WA.
Note the music is by Little Bill An early 60's R&R singer.
