Post subject: I saw something that makes me want to do one of two things..

What I saw is...........ready?...........your going to flip...........i'm so excited!.........I just saw a........





Book for playing Beatles songs on recorder. This makes me want to do one of two things.
1) Go out and buy this book and break out my recorder to rock out some Beatles.
2) Scream in horror from it because a recorder is possibly the most annoying instrument EVER CREATED!!!!!

Recorders are amazingly cool. I caught these people at the Greenwich Early Music Festival last year:

The back of my head must be in the audience in some of those shots. And if you think that's a big recorder that girl is playing - they had much bigger ones on some of the pieces.

That is beautiful man. I'm talking about the little plastic recorders they made us learn in 3rd grade as annoying.
And yes those are huge recorders :D

lol listening to Brian Setzer his solo work with his Gretsch guitar im in love with the tone! i might bust out my old Squire and try and recreate the tone it sounds like hes got a octavia pedal or something cuz it might be standard EADGBE tuning and a octave down

I have a buddy that plays accordion, he's actually one of the best musicians I know. About 99% of the other times I've heard someone playing accordion though, I wanted to stab sharpened pencils in my ears! Disclaimer: Kids, don't stab sharpened pencils in your ears.

Back to the OP. I don't think the recorder is too bad an instrument. I have heard people play them that were very good, and anything but annoying. And hey, picking it back up and playing the songs you want to play would probably be a lot of fun; give it a go!
