What poisons me is that for every thief there's a buyer who the thief can unload the goods on.I have heard people brag about things they got at a bargain price because it was hot, thinking that they did no wrong because they weren't the ones that stole it. This stupid rationalization is lame and beyond my comprehension.By doing business with a thief you are helping perpetuate his illegal and immoral activities and are stooping down to his level which is below that of pond scum.

+1
While you are buying from a thief, he is casing your possessions for his next haul...and it will serve you right for supporting him.

FenderGuy1, not to be a tool or start an argument, Fender didn't have Silverface amps in 1964, they didn't exist. Silverface amps ran roughly form 1967-1981. I was around then and I remember it well. Look it up. The best thing to do is get the tranny codes and look up the date of manufacture.

Here's a little history.

They were still transitioning in 67

Here's a 66

yeah but my dad changed the faceplate to a 67 silverface cuz he likes silverface amps

Why would anybody want to do that? :|
I like the silverface amps just fine (I think they're unfairly thought of as "bad" when most of them were pretty good), but I wouldn't destroy the value of a vintage amp, if it's even possible to switch faceplates. No offense intended.

I don't think it can be a 67 SF faceplate either. Looks like the Vibrolux Reverb didn't go SF till mid 1968 though I may be wrong. Arjay is the resident Fender historian. I going from a Tom Wheeler book. I've owned lots of Fender SF amps Bandmaster, Deluxe Reverb Bandmaster and never had a problem with them. I sold them as my needs changed. I don't like having dozens of amps around anymore.
FenderGuy1 you may want to talk to your Dad and get the real scoop.
