Tomorrow is day 14 on the Champix so it is officially quit day.I spend about $8.50 a day on cigarettes so that works out to about $255 a month but possibly more because some days I'd start on a second pack so it's probably closer to $275.Anyway I figure that if I put that much aside every month in about 6-8 months I'll be able to get my used Rickenbacker 325,350 or 360/12.That's where every cent of smoke money is going to go from now on and in about 10 years I may achieve my goal of having one of every model John and George used...and maybe a couple of Paul's,all I need now is the stubborness and will power,I have the incentive in the way of guitars.

You can do it bro.....eye on the prize :D
Good luck and stay strong

good for you. i've been a smoker for over 20 years. i have to admit that i really enjoy smoking for some stupid reason. each time i light up i think of how much hard-earned cash i'm wasting. if i were to quit, i could easily afford a nice chopper and pass the harley over to mrs. jeebus. but alas, i remain a fool and continue to puff my money away. yep, thats me. the foolish money puffer.
i'm really rooting for you. the drugs the doc gave me to help me quit made me want to shoot myself. i had to put a few pistols in the gunsafe and hand the key over. if and when i decide to get smart, it'll have to be cold turkey. my most recent attempt failed miserably and i'm pretty sure my wife had called a divorce lawyer.

Guitslinger, It is possible... I have been "tobacco" free for just about 2 years after being a cigarette smoker for about 33 years. Find a substitute that is not so damaging too yourself. Then enjoy your new gear. 8)

GOOD LUCK GUITSLINGER! Quitting smoking is EASY! I've done it at least 97 times.

But seriously, maybe you have given me some inspiration! Keep us posted on how it goes day to day and make it like a journal.

The time I quit for a year, I found I needed new rituals to replace the smoking ritual. I started drinking one night, had a few too many, bummed a smoke and it was over. That's right, I'm a cigaholic. If I ever stop again I know I can NOT have even ONE. Just like an alcoholic who can't take a single drink. It is about the same thing. So don't backslide like I did. I wish I had not. Seriously, keep us posted on how it goes.

Think of a 68 year old man with the health of a 90 year old man setting on the edge of his bed on home OXYGEN on a sunny day when everyone else is out fishing. That should give you the strength and willpower. and thats the gods truth. Wake up man.
