i've heard some tracks from a lot of you people here at the forum, so now it's my turn.
i used to do home recording years ago with a fostex 4-track and a stereo reel to reel... and recently decided to go digital.
finally got to mess around with my new recorder the other day... then my son introduced me to a site where i can upload things like this.
let me know what you think... you'll notice i'm still stuck in the pentatonic rut, but, hey, for me it's all about the fun. 8)

i got the Zoom R16... was debating on either the Tascam DP-008 or the Zoom, but the zoom offered a whole lot more... especially the capacity to record up to 8 tracks simultaneously, where the tascam could only do 2.
pretty cool unit, easy to use, and i'm happy with it so far.
here's some info if you're looking:

oh... and thanks yoda!

Very nice Frankie. Sounds like you were having fun. Your pentatonic rut sounds familiar, kind of like my pentatonic rut. :)

I like the song, but thought the mix was off. The bass guitar sounded too high & the vocal, harp & guitar to low IMHO.

my own critique of the mix is similar.. this was a "trial run" for the recorder and i put it together in one night.
the drums, bass and occasional acoustic strum was a backing track i created in FL studio and was all on 1 track, so if iturn the bass down the drums and strums go with it... but i agree, overall, the bass is overpowering, rhythm guitar is too low, vocal i thought was too loud (probably because i'm not a big fan of my own voice).
i did the mixdown using headphones. after the master was done i listened to it through the computer speakers, and things sounded different... then i burned it onto a cd, and it sounded different again, then i ripped it to mp3 and uploaded it to sound cloud, and it sounded different again. all slight differences, but they're there.

thanks for listening though, and thanks for your input.

ftk

Agreed, but cool tune!

I might be down your way on Saturday to hear a friend's band
at The Banner Pub, 167 Union St. in ROCKland MA Sat. July 30th, 8:00 - 11:30. Great food, reasonable prices!
