Hey everyone...So I have been looking around for someone to take the Tele to for a fret level. I did talk to a guy a while back but decided to keep looking for someone else to do it because he seemed daunted by the fact that my guitar has a maple fretboard; and I'm not gonna leave my guitar with anyone that doesn't seem to be 110% confident that they can do the job I require.
So my question to you is this...Is there anyone on here in Northern CA, that can recommend a good luthier I can take my guitar into? I'm in the East Bay, but I'm down to go pretty much anywhere in the Bay Area or even a little further if necessary.

Tim, you might give these guys a holler......

No, I've never had occasion to use their services. But I know several folks who have, and all report great results and total satisfaction with their work. I've been to their shop many times and I was always impressed with what I saw.

Thanks Arjay. I'll give them a call. $175 seems a little steep for a fret level, but it's worth the price for the peace of mind, IMO.

It's $150 up in Phoenix......$175 out in the "workers' paradise" doesn't seem out of line.

Hi Tim it runs between $135 and $175 up here in the great white north. One thing I know is that there are quite a few very proficient luthiers in the Bay Area so not to worry I'm sure you'll find the right one for the job

OK, cool. I had thought it was generally a little lower, but $150 - $175 is fine by me, the frets are pretty close to due for some work. Thanks again Arjay. I looked up roseville guitar works, and they seem to have a pretty solid reputation.

I just had the frets leveled and dressed on my PRS and it cost me $80.

Contact me privately Tim and I'll hook you up.
