Welcome,

I have a problem with my Fender Aerodyne bass. as long as I'm touching the strings or the bridge it is fine but as i release the finger it gives an annoying hum/buzz. I thought i was a grounding problem. I unscrewed the backshield and the bridge but every thing seemed fine.
I'm confused and I don't know what maight cause it.

Thanks

Start with checking all your grounds again just because you looked at it does not mean it is good. I like to check it with a meter

I don't have a meter. And also I tried to do something with it. The problem is that I don't know which cable is connected to which. It' not the bridge problem. But I really don't know what to do with it.

If you have any advice please don't hesitate.

It could be many things your amp, lights or something on that circuit your plugged in at. Did you try a different bass on your amp? or try your bass on a different amp or different cord. Their is a wire that is under the bridge that come in on the back cavity and it is soldered to the back of the pot make sure all the black wire look good and soldered

About the AMP - I tried my precision bass on this AMP and also I treid the Aerodyne on another AMP. I spotted that if I turn the master tone all the way down the hum disappears. But as I play some more powerful music this hum is annoying me.
Maybe it is something wrong with the potentiometer of the master tone?

I agree, because it can really be anything, any lamp or any thing else.

Most pots that are bad will be scratchy or just cut out and what happens when you turn the tone the pot has a capacitor which rolls off the high and make the humm less. Make sure each pot is grounded the ground wire from the bridge goes to the back of the tone pot and most of the time their will be a ground wire to each pot. Then check all the solder work on the pot and even check the input jack too

I checked them. I don't know which of them might be bad soldered because they all look good. If it might help I will send some photos of the soldering work.

You also could shield the cavity or upgrade pickups too. I would like to see a pic of it

How can I shield the cavity? I saw a video but i don't know what tape was used in there. But I'll try. And there's not too much hum. When I turn the tone all the way up i gives a little buzz. Then when I turn the jazz bass pickup it gives a sharp hum but not that loud. And if I turn the precision pickup it gives a "smooth" hum. And as i touch the lower precision bass pickup it gives a buzz, but the upper doesn't.

Go to stewmac .com and they have lots of stuff to shield they have tape or paint. Just do the cavity with it.
