Ha! I still have the original tip, but the switch had to be replaced. The originals were plastic and wore out over time. The new switch was aftermarket and the blade of the switch was too wide to accomodate the tip. Still have the old switch, too.

Black No. 1 doesn't get a lot of use now. It was my only axe for many years so there is considerable fretwear.

I've given it some thought, but I have a dozen other guitars including 5 other Strats. Some of those could use some playing time. I dragged out my 2000 Cyclone which hasn't seen action in a while. In any case, I'm currently unemployed so I'm not looking to incur any more expenses in the short-term.

Okay, here's an old fuzzy picture of my Mustang for the occasion-

I've posted better pictures of it--but it's the first one I came across in my photobucket account

Here are some of mine - There is several that was at the studio when I took this "family portrait" - There are strats representing 6 decades in this pic - 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000, and even a 2010 in there! The 2 that are laying down are a PRS DGT model, and a Gibson ES 335 - All US made strats & teles, no MIM or Squires in the bunch!

There is no way you play all of those on a regular basis, help a broke guy out and donate one

I have more blue Strats than other colours. Here's a photo of my 'blue' Strats These Fender gals are all Stratocasters or Strat-like. In the forefront are a Hippy-on-a-stick Tie-Dye-Strat and my all time favorite Strat to play, a Fender Aerodyne.

The blue Hippy has a sister called the 'Gypsy' that is orange and black. I hope to scoop one up if a specimen comes up locally for sale.

As stated, the Aerodyne is a fantastic guitar. It's only competition in my arsenal as 'best playing guitar' is a Fender Tele TC-90 that is also made in Japan.

I'm a sucker for blue Fender's myself -- my CIJ '65 re-issue Strat, my Strat 12-string, and my '66 Jazz Bass (clone) are all Lake Placid Blue.

BLUE IS BEAUTIFUL!

I'm jealous. I don't yet have a single Lake Placid blue of any model. Id also like to scoop up a Midnight blue.

'Dapne' blue is a odd colour. In some light when I put my Daphne blue and Surf green Strats next to each other...they look the same. In other light one looks distinctly blue and the other distinctly green

Indeed. And under different illumination, Daphne Blue and Sonic Blue are hard to distinguish from one another.

I think my next Strat build will be something in Sea Foam Green -- perhaps another hard-tail.
