Recently I broke a brand new B string on my electric during tuning and am awaiting my new set. So what do I do? What are the top then things you do while you wait for new strings?

1. Play acoustic guitar
2. Work on finger picking
3. Figure out how to play songs without a B string on electric
4. Play all my regular stuff on acoustic
5. Improv blues alot
6. Work out parts for songs in progress
7. Learn alot of riffs
8. Cover alot of songs
9. Try to rock out on acoustic
10. Play alot of Bob Dylan

You don't need the B for power chords.

You could always go on a date. As guitar players, I know a lot of us struggle between the passion for music and the passion for love . . .

My wife calls my guitar my mistress.

With a broken string and no new ones to replace at the moment, I'd have no excuse to spend some time with the lady I married.

Hmmm...how about changing it? Or better yet the whole set!

Would your wife agree to Negative Creep taking her out on a date, though? :D

(Isn't it fun to manipulate other people's words with the quote function?)

That's exactly why I keep spares on hand-spare sets and spares of the lightest gauge strings especially.I have fixed all the friction problems on all my guitars and can't remember the last time that I broke a string.

But seriously, I like the idea of playing songs without using the B string.
I can play simple punk songs without it: Dammit, Lounge Act, Sliver, Blitzkrieg Bop, Louie Louie(Iggy Pop Version), a couple of songs ive written, just nothing with any kind of solo

You're no kind of guitar player at all if you can't do without.
