Hi guys,

I got this one in a trade a while back, and I'm not entirely sure about which Fender it exactly is. So this is what I know: It was made in Fender's Corona factory back in 2002 (serial number), it's a HSS and... that's about it.

And a pic (the tremolo bar is removed):




Oh, and the serial is Z2219488 if it helps. The color threw me of quite a bit, and I haven't been able to find info on it either. The pickguard is apparently chrome, but the body... Well who knows. It looks like some shade of grey in the pic, but it has a hint of sea green when looking with a naked eye.

Yes it is 2002 but with mod; it have only 2 knobs and the pickgard is not original. All Strat have 3 knobs or it is a "new" model ?

You be sure if you remove pickgard an see what the pickup routing look and unscrew the neck to see what is write inside the neck pocket and onthe neck end.

I have 2002 fender Frontline cathalog and there is nothing like that in the catalog

So I removed the neck and there was a bunch of numbers and dates there.

The body part said: FEB 14 2002, and with a different font: F565229 and with a very light print: OL-COL (I think, since it was indeed very light). The neck end said OCT 23 2002.

And the neck in itself is also a bit peculiar actually. It says ''original contour body'' in the front, and the serial is in the back. Like this one I found on the web:



Also, as I wasn't sure what to look for in the pickup routing, I took a few pics:









So there's one knob for tone and one for volume, mick switch, two single coils and one humbucker (which says Fender, btw). The routing/wiring/soldering seems very neatly done, so if it's a mod, I'm pretty sure it's done by a professional, or at least by a very accomplished guitar enthusiast. And now I'm even more intrigued.

Looks like Mexican neck/mid pickups. I'm not sure on the hum and the switch/pots are too blurry for me to make out.

Sorry but your pictures are very very bad. All I can say it's a Strat guitar.

Hard to say if wiring job is well done; pickup wire are too long and I can't see the solder on the pot and the 5 way switch and number on the pots.

Original contour body is write on "classic Serie". The tuners show on your peg head is vintage type, same is the string "T"

Bridge and saddle look to be "American Standard" but the picture is bad
