If the Fuzz Face was the old original it would win hands down but the new ones don't cut the mustard like the old ones did.The Big Muff Pi is a far superior and sturdier pedal and it has more tonal range so it's way more versatile.

I love the fuzz face. Its really a very versatile fuzz pedal. You can crank the fuzz and use your guitar's volume control to control how much fuzz you want. You just lower the volume to around 5 on your guitar and you have a nice transparent overdrive tone and crank it the volume to 10 and you have a full fuzz tone. Between 5 and 10, you have a great crunch biting tone. You really can't do that with a Big Muff as well.

Man, you just gave me an idea to do my next youtube video. Big Muff vs Fuzz Face. Stay tune.

My latest video is using a fuzz face with a bbe soul vibe pedal and I have the guitar volume at around 7. You can see me messing with the guitar's volume control in the video to get different dirt effects.

If you like muffs, you should definately check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM-dQfEy42Y, its a copy of an old sovtek muff made by a guy in england.
He also does various other variations of muff, as seen on his website http://www.madebymike.co.uk/index.shtml

I happen to own a Russian Big Muff. I don't know exactly when they quit making them but it works well in line with the American one. The links were interesting and thanks for posting them!
