I don't know if this is related, but this morning when I went to get in the car, there was a 2x4 under my front tire, on an angle. There was a bit of a storm last night, but I have a hard time believing the wind would blow a 2x4 under the front tire of my car.
Hmmmm :?

:) Above all, don't start a fight with them. Mr. Armadillo makes some good points. If you communicate with them and appeal to there more sensible side you will probably have better luck. Remember your dealing with kids and your correct in that you did make a mistake. Sad the little ones will suffer. Some times the cops will help. :) Give that a try.

We've had relatively quiet neighbors but I wasn't chancing it.

When the old fellow next door passed on, we bought the house when it came up for sale. Our three nephews live in it rent free as long as they are in university. My word is law. Quiet means quiet. They all play guitar and all have a set of headphones. If they want to jam together they play in our basement so not to disturb other neighbors.

It's not the noise so much as not having control of the noise. Our nephews can be in the basement making a musical racket and it doesn't bother us at all. However, if it's a car up the alley with the stereo going or whatever, it drives me batty. It pisses me off when someone is being an ignorant a-hole oblivious of others.

Well, in the event you decide to go with payback, here's some loud, particularly obnoxious ammunition:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I0NvgKZnTk
(^ loop that really annoying noise right after the actual song ends)

and my favorite for annoying people:

And then of course you could top it off with the worst, most annoying hot jazz you can find

We'll no noise last night. We'll see how things progress into the weekend. I want to keep things as neighborly as possible.

our new neighbors aren't noisy thankfully.

when they first moved in, they went out of their way to be friendly- almost too much. things are better now.

what drives me crazy is the 3 cats they have. these people lived on a farm where the cats had tons of room. now they spend half the time in our yard. i can't wlk out in the morning without tripping over 1, and if i sit on my porch at night, they sneak up on me.

i don't hate cats, and never would hurt them, but i wish i knew a safe method to keep them off my yard

If they think you're crazy it helps, then they seem to take more notice of you walking around at odd times in the night and day...and I find that wearing full camo and a shoulder holster with a cocked and locked Colt .45 are nice fashion statements....a friendly wave in their direction as you saunter by is nice.....no threats, though.
That's the nice thing about living in Tennessee,I guess in some states you just couldn't get by with it...my neighbors treat me very well. :D

........not legally anyway....but there are folks in NYC for whom a 9mm automatic [or something similar]is included in what they wear when going out of the evening to the clubs or a house party. We routinely hear about those dress regs on the news the following day.

I am sure this has been mentioned, but wait until they are quiet , put your amp near a window next to their house, and play loudly...and badly. You may have to do this some day you are alone in the house and wife and kids are away.

I did this with my neighbors who I swear are vampires, never see them during the day. Let's just say I have not had any issues with them since I did this. They even say hello from time to time when they are out.
