Hey guys...anyone had a chance to hear Warren Haynes new solo album, Man In Motion? I just heard about it tonight and downloaded it; let me tell you, this one is sweet. Typical Warren Haynes style but with a heavy R&B/Soul feel to it. I am really enjoying it, and the title track is awesome. I just thought I'd put this out here for any fans of Warren, I'm a huge Gov't Mule fan, but this is the first I heard of this solo album. Do yourself a favor and check it out. CD Universe has it for download for $9.99.

Tim Premier Guitar did an interview with Warren in the July issue and this album was a topic of conversation.

Guitar World also did an interview with Warren a month or two back. I bought his CD shortly after it came out - a great addition to my blues collection. Good stuff!

I have tickets to see Warren at the House of Blues, Sept.1, as part of the finals for the GC King of the Blues contest. Sounds like it will be a good show.

Warren is a cool guy,I met him years ago when he played for David Allen Coe,he played me a cassette recording of an extended jam he did of the Vanilla Fudge version of "You Keep Me Hanging On"...he said "when I'm up there playing it doesn't seem that long but when I listen back to it ,it goes on forever!"...he was really good back then, also.
I'm glad he has the recognition he deserves,I really like his style and we discussed his influences and he readily gave credit to Duane Allman and Dickey Betts and Leslie West,I hear those influences in his playing, especially West.

Glad I'm not the only warren haynes fan here. The dude is really a legend, and it seems like less and less people even know who he is lately.

Right Tim,the guys who are great in my book are not one trick ponies,a great guitar player can play very well in many styles and can pull it off without struggling with it.
Jack Pearson is another guitar legend who seems to be able to play anything,in an excellent way. and yet, very few even know who he is...
if you asked Warren Haynes about Jack, you would get a very positive response about Jack's talent, they've played together many times....Jack is a musician's musician...he is admired by many great players including Vince Gill who called him,"my favorite guitar player."

Thanks for posting those links Dugger,I've seen them before and what you see is Jack as he is in person,a quiet spoken person who can sound great and is so modest about it...
he is a great person as well.

Not only an amazing player, but also a great songwriter.
Here's Beth Hart with Warren's "Soulshine" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzRF3cDIPQw.
