Do you all remember that 1986 concert special "Carl Perkins and Friends" ???

Here is a clip from the concert with Eric Clapton on guitar and Ringo Starr on drums, playing along side the legendary, late, great, Carl Perkins. 8)

This is in the key of "A". Grab your Strat and play along! :D

+10Million...fantastic guitar playing. Perkins tone on that Peavey had some nice cluck to it too! Throw in Mean Women Blues and you have two crankin good tunes!!! This is a great show and worth tracking down!

Thanks for posting this Butch. Really liked the comment..."Dear God, please send Carl Perkins back and take Justin Beiber."

LOL...

Thanks, guys. I've seen that concert on TV years ago (or I think my brother-in-law had it on VHS tape back then).

Anyway, I love it in the video when right around 1:10 or 1:12 when EC is jamming. Carl Perkins was bopping along with the beat, and then just sort of stops and stares at EC's guitar neck! 8)

A fine post this is, ButchA. Really enjoyed it!

Seems every time I see Clapton on a solo, if they zoom in, he's playing on my favorite Strat pup. The Middle. :D

Thanks ButchA that is some firey playing by EC. After seeing that you know why Blackie was getting worn out!!! And nice tone on the old Tweed Twin...although sounds like they added some reberb as well. The amp sounds like it is screaming for him to "Stop Pushing me so hard"!
