Cleveland DJ Tommy Edwards was also an amatuer photographer who took more than a few great shots that most people have never seen. These here a great version of pictures that have made the rounds quite a bit but never in full frame and as high quality. They're just two of many located by by Chris Kennedy and now in a new book, see story.

Hmm pomeade was very popular... Elvis is too young for those godawful sideburns...Bill Haley is too old for cowlicks. From a fashion standpoint Elvis could fit right in with todays hairstyles sort of timeless that way.

When I read the heading "when Rock lost its innocence" I thought you'd be posting pix of the Stone's infamous Altamont concert where members of Hell's Angels murdered a fan right in front of the stage.A lot of people figured that was the seminal event that ended the age of innocence-the polar opposite to Woodstock and Flower Power.

Yep,Grace Slick or someboday called Altamont,"a day in hell".

Great stuff,Elvis and Bill Haley....I read the story about Haley,I didn't know what had happened to him.
