As kid, I didn't have the money to buy my own guitar. Friends of mine, that played guitar, were right handed (I'm left handed). My friends taught me how to play guitar, and let me use their right handed guitars to learn. It didn't seem to matter to me, since I was starting from scratch anyway. It was all new to me. I eventually bought my first guitar, which was right handed.

I like the idea that I play right handed guitars. There are often times when I'm somewhere, without a guitar, and I can easily pick up another person's guitar and play. I later became a drummer, and my drum teacher advised me to learn right handed, since I was just beginning. He told me that there would often be times where I would sit down to someone's drums set, and again I found this to be true.

When I was in a band, in competition with other bands, a single set of drums was set up on stage (auditions, and performances) for all drummers to use. Of course they were set up right handed. I was able to sit down and play drums, as I always did, with no problems (right handed).
