Hey guys, It's been a while since I've posted! I've come here to seek some advice from ya'll on my next guitar purchase. This summer I have gotten a job for a while until school starts back up in fall. With my money I have decided to purchase a new guitar.

I don't want to spend all my money so i've set about $800 aside for a new guitar purchase. But, I have no clue what to buy.

I would personally prefer something different from what I have now which includes:
-An American deluxe ash strat
-American standard strat
-Fender standard telecaster (fsr)
-Gibson les paul studio 50's reissue
-Epiphone g-400 sg

I've been thinking about getting a guitar with humbuckers so I'm really considering this guitar:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-FSR- ... 1858008.gc

these guitars have also gotten me interested:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-FSR- ... 472227.gc#

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Clas ... 1166324.gc

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-FSR- ... 1559901.gc

I would really appreciate it if you guys could provide me some input on good guitars in my price range and also give opinions on the gutiars i've linked above. I'm open to hear ya'lls input and I really appreciate the help. :D

You should get a thinline...it'd be a nice addition to your collection. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ ... ric-guitar

Looks lik you have a good collection already lots of Gibson's and Fender's. I have a Tele and a strat and I wanted something different. I like the fret configuration of a Les Paul but like the feel and weight of the Telecaster. I just bought a Sterling Axis AX40 it is like a EVH wolfgang or Ernie Ball Music Man but a fraction of the cost $549. YOu get a Les Paul Fret board with a thin smooth neck and a Telecaster body. With humbuckers that you can split the coils on. It sounds awesome no matter what you play. Check out the reviews.

I love my blacktop strat. Humbuckers but also split coil 5 way switch. You would have money left over too.

dude i'll try to be the most subjective possible... you got a real good choice for a humbucker guitar in fender the tele deluxe and i'd take it over a normal tele any old day or that or a blacktop tele... Iguess you could also go for the pawnshop mustang...

if you're willing to get something out of fender considering what you got and considering you want something different i suggest the following 3 the gibson/epiphone explorer, the gibson/epiphone firebird, and (this next one is a personal GAS of mine and i really believe this guitar doesn't get enough attention for a vintage model) the grestch corvette...

this is only me speaking... i'm into punk rock i guess that kinda matters considering what guitar you want depends on what music you're into... this is just a suggestion but have you ever thought of going with a partscaster guitar? i mean you already have a nice arsenal i think you're ready to go custom

Yup, get yo sef a bass. 'Agree with Tochai. All sorts of fun in a completely different direction.

Some hotties in this opinion:

Fender Standard Jazz
Fender Standard Precision
Gibson SG Faded Bass
Epi Thunderbird

Best of fortune.

If you go the Epi-G-400 route you'd have a much better guitar if you opted for the G-400 Custom. For about $150 more you get a far superior guitar with 3 pups of higher quality and better sustain and bite and gold plating. The Custom is on par with anything that Gibson makes for a fraction of the cost.I pnly paid $550 for mine and from the sound, build quality and feel you'd think that I paid much much more. Also if you have a ceiling of $800 there are plenty of really high quality used guitars in that price range that could be as good as or even better than a lot of new ones.

I've been gassing for a thinline myself. I played the model I posted the link for at GC and I was impressed. You should go try one out if you get the chance.

Hmm not really a fan of those guitars. Those bridges are honestly a big turn off for me.

I've played two blacktop strats and a blacktop tele at my local shop and honestly, they really didn't feel that great to me. The necks weren't very comfortable and I'm just not a fan of the looks.

I know at some point at will get a bass. But it really wouldn't be something I would "enjoy" as much as a new guitar.

only if you treat the guitar with lots of love :D

Ya I really am considering a tele with humbuckers both the thinline and deluxe. The firebird and explorer body styles have never been a fav of mine. But, a gretsch does sound nice.... haha. One day a partsocaster would be nice, but I feel like having the guitar now instead of waiting on it.

Like above, a bass would be nice but wouldn't really satisfy me. But them Jazz basses are pretty.....

Hmm i think you appear to be mistaken with my post, I already own an epiphone g-400. I have also been thinking about used but I do get worried when it comes down to the authenticity of an instrument.

this is just from EXPERINCE....the epiphone g-400 would be at the bottom of my list.....i had a g-310 one time(okder model)and the pickups fell apart withiwithin 6 months...on top of that, the sound wasn't too hot....it IS a humbucker guitar, but i'd opt for one of their les pauls if you are going the epiphone route...they are much sturdier than the sg models...and produce a bit better humbucker sound which is what it seems you are going for...either that or a mexi strat with some quality humbuckers modded in

Like I said above, I already own an epi sg. But, I could see myself with a les paul seeing as my current gibby les paul has p-90's in it..

Thanks for the advice so far! I have really appreciated it all guys! :D I think I have a general direction of what to look into now.

Tanner please don't forget a photo of whichever guitar it is, I have a feeling it will be a very cool new member of your guitar family. 8)
